Information Technology

Information Technology Year 1 covers the explanation of technology and computer hardware basics, compatibility issues, common errors associated with computer hardware, software installation and functions, security risks and prevention, Green IT, and preventative maintenance of computers. Students should be prepared to take the CompTIA IT Fundamentals Certification exam at the end of the course. 

Year 2 teaches the basic concepts of networking, network operating systems, networking types, standards, and how data is encoded and transmitted. This course is designed to prepare students for the Microsoft Technology Associate: Networking Fundamentals Certification Exam. 

Coach Spiers is the Information Technology instructor and he has 2 years of teaching experience.
